Idle Problems
Alright, I know this has been posted a million times, and I searched and didn't find the detailed information I thought was on here. I've been building an h22, and just now put it all back in and the revs were bouncing up and down between 1-3k cold, I'm not sure if it was when it warmed up or when I changed the thermo valve under the throttle body but now the revs are staying at 3k. I saw people talking about adjusting the fast idle, but I didnt see anything about what to adjust. Also which hose is the high pressure line? I think thats all the relevant information right now, thanks
oh yea, I also removed the TPS and reinstalled it, so it may not be adjusted perfectly

try these:
1. make sure your throttle cable isn't holding open the throttle body.
2. vaccum leaks- these are a pain, probably best to go one by one and zip tie the vaccuum lines.
3. Idle adustment screw. there's a screw on your TB which controls idle, if it's open too far, then your reves will be high.
4. make sure everything's tightened down with no leaks, if air is getting by your TB gasket for instance, it will idle high.
Anyways, hope this helps, good luck

well my bro's 97 type sh did the same thing it would stop when warm then it would keep doing it and would'nt stop we finaly got pissed after changing the tps and some idle sensor we took it to hondaville and they looked at it and fixed it for $50.00 they just cleaned out the the intake manifold and thottle body and something else and it never did it again that was 30,000miles ago.
I feel ya. I've been having the same issues with my car. I've followed the Helms work book. My car has been idling a little low, around 600 rpms and stalls out while it's idling, almost like the iacv isn't adjusting properly to the change in engine speeds. If you find something out, please post. I'm tired of having to constantly restart my car.
yea.. check your throttle body gasket, sometimes theres cracks or if you've put a new gasket on, there might be old gasket left.
Have you checked your PCV valve? If the bearing inside isn't rollin around in there, sometimes that causes your car to idle a bit rough. Maybe not shoot your revs up like that but rough nevertheless.
Vacuum lines are usually outlined on a diagram maybe under your hood. Trace that and check for cracks, friction wear (loose intake pipes), or punctures. Sometimes it starts tearing around the part where it fits onto the metal pipes.
Fast idle sensor, I've never looked at it on my Prelude but I remember on my Integra, its under the TB so I needed to take my TB off and unbolt the FIS. Inside theres like a thing you can turn and adjust but not sure where to adjust it too. I just bought a used one for like 50 bucks and it solved my problem.
Good luck
