Do the washer trick. It helps with keeping engine bay temps down, and you'll look maD tYtE JDM, yO!

add spacers to lift the back of the hood up. It lets the air vent out. Are you turbo or supercharged?

my hood, blows air over the supercharger, helps out a lot!

this is a good hood for venting heat from a turbo car.

cutting and adding a scoop wont look very good in my opinion...

you should just do the spacers on the hood

You could also vent the hood or buy a vented hood/hood with extractors. I see it on a lot of s2k's, and you could cut along the bracing of a stock hood if the brace pattern is symetrical. At any rate, with a high heat application it is better to extract air from the engine bay than shove more air in. Raise the hood with washers or get a hood with vents/extractors.

Here's a pic of a relatively nice vented Prelude hood (www.allmotorsports.com):

What kind of turbo setup and manifold do you have? (sorry about the question ) You realize if it starts raining and you get water on a 1000+ degree piece of metal it's not going to be very happy...

Just get a universal hood scoop from ebay or Summit or wherever and bolt it on. It's not hard.

you have to get some washers or a spacer from a hardware store along with some longer bolts.

The bolts that you will be replacing are the 4 that hold your hood to the hinges. Put the spacers in there to raise the back of the hood up. Ive see everywhere from a half inch to almost 2 inch raises on different cars. It just depends on how high you want the back of your hood to stick up

My H23 has most any bolt-on you can think of (no power adders though) and I also have a Defi temp gauge and I noticed zero change in temperature from having the hood spaced or not. This was in the sahara summer we had last year in Texas also...

Superchargers? There's none for the H23....Jackson Racing makes an H22 roots-type blower that replaces the intake manifold, but that's it. Somebody may have rigged up a centrifugal type blower, but I have never seen it. I'm sure you know that the 'Supercharge any car for $39.95!' is bullcrap

WHAT??..why you have to ruin my fun? i was going to go and buy that TURBONATOR (sounds like something Arnold Swartzinager would say)!! Looks like a neat cup holder though on the plus side!

lol, i just got my 2000$ of incentive grant(skilled trade) so i wanted to give my car a present. Turbo is a bit expensive unless i piece together a system. but i only want to do a stock internals boost (maybe up to 5-6 psi) anyway so im still unsure what to do. I could save up but that 2 g's is going to burn a hole in my wallet fast seeing how im paying a morgage now in my own house.
