Default Head conversions...

i hate to ask this, but i dont know much about ludes and im sure its probobally (sp) been adressed before, but i dont knwo the engine codes to check. I was wondering if you could get a less than lude vtec (on the 93-95) (like the lude si) and do a head swap to make it a "kinda lude vtec". If so, how much would that cost to make the rod/stroke ratio right and abuot how much power would u be weildign?

You can get an Si w/ an H23A and swap on the prelude VTEC head (H22A). I don't know the cost or what is required though.

I don't know details, but the power numbers might be a bit higher, but the gears will be different and might make 1/4 mile times slower. I'm not sure about that, but know the extra displacement will be good for power. Overall it would be cheaper to get a VTEC, I'd think, plus you gain other stuff like better brakes, leather, sunroof, etc.

Well the 4 disc brakes will help performance. The leather and sunroof just add weight.

yes you can put a h22(vtec) head on h23(SI) block. My friend did the swap himself a few months ago. I think he spent around $2500-3000. But he also replaced other various parts so it cost more. It runs great and drives nice. But i think it would be better and lot easier to just swap in the whole vtec motor.

H22A1's are decently cheap. $1500 or so usually. THAT'S JUST THE MOTOR.
