Default H23A vtec dizzy problem

I'm swaping a H23a Vtec engine from the Accord type R in my 2000 Prelude. I'm running into the problem that the new engine does not have the 4 pin harness coming out of the back of the block for the CKP/TDC.

I want use the h23a dizzy to get around this problem but it's a 8 wire with an internal coil and I can't find any info on it. Anyone no what wires are what on this dizzy, or if there any other solution??

I was thinking maybe buying a obd1 prelude dizzy with an external coil there is a good right up how to use that one on this site.

The H23A is out of the Accord Wagon.

Yes, it is possible to use that distributor. I think the main difference between them is that the Accord distributors don't have a RPM output and Prelude distributors do. You can add that, and it is possible to convert it to external coil.

Thanks,

Do you have any idea what wires are what on the accord distributor, and how to hook up the RPM output.

I have an accord distributor running my car so I know it works. I'm not that clever, though, so I couldn't really tell you how it all comes together. I think RPM output is just running a wire.

That guy, though (Eucalyptus lude), has some good info.

I should mention, by the way, that the OEM P5M ECU will NOT like this configuration. It will run and drive, but it won't be a happy camper.

You'll want an ECU setup to run with CKP/CYP/TDC all in the distributor...

Which would be US OBD1 or JDM (either OBD1 or OBD2).

I have an Accord swap, but it's not a H23. I have a SOHC Civic ECU.
