h22a4 dizzy?

I s there a difference in the h22a4 dizzy and the older h22 dizzy? my a4 is out of a 1998 sh

'98 is OBD2; h22a1 is OBD1. OBD1 has adjustable ignition timing; OBD2 does not. OBD2 has CYP sensor in the housing. Different wiring. What are you trying to accomplish?

This is the difference:

obd1 (92-95): ckp/tdc sensors in the distributor
obd2 (96-01): ckp/tdc sensors at the oil pump
