h22a4
I just installed a h22a4 engine from a 2001 honda prelude now my headers are dropped to low to the ground and will not mount to the frame of the car any suggestions. By the vtec swap into a 92 lude did not see this coming
I am not sure if they were bent from the car or they are just the wrong headers but this is what I can tell you. The engine is a h22a4 out of a 2001 prelude. The dc headers were on the engine when I installed it. My old headers would bolt to the frame but for some reason they are dropped about 3 inches. Slightest bump and they will hit the asphalt. I will post pics tonight so you can see what I am talking about.
Sounds like you had a different engine in the car before, and swapped in an engine complete with aftermarket headers. unfortunately that is one downfall of many aftermarket bits, especially cheap ones like DC, is that they do not fit as well as stock.
You could try another header, but it may fit fairly low as well, or have an exhaust shop modify what you have for more clearance, if there is room in the bay.
Just a thought, but maybe the header is for an SH model, and is longer as well, and doesn't bolt up to your exhaust like a 4th gen designed exhaust would? There usually is no difference in H22 headers for any of the variations, but the SH was known to use different exhaust to clear the ATTS box.
