Default H22A Auto :(

Hey guys, i have an Automatic 1998 Prelude JDM H22A base. I want to either do a 5spd conversion or find an automatic transmission that is good and will be compatible with this Engine. I've asked a lot of people if there is a transmission compatible and they've all told me they dont think so i just want to make sure this is true before i spend the money on the conversion. Also i heard that there was a H2 B20 Conversion Plate for 5spd where can i inquire about this?

That H2B kit won't work in your Prelude or on the Accord just FYI. Only in Civics and maybe Tegs.

You can just get a used low mileage JDM Auto Trans off Ebay for cheap. Just stay away from the ATTS H22 trans cause it won't work on your base H22A4. GL!

Is there any way to stay away from the tiptronic transmission though? H22A4 is USDM right.. i have the JDM H22A. Will an accord automatic transmission be compatible?

You're stuck with using the 5th gen auto trans, I don't think any others will work because of the trip shifter. Best option would be to convert to manual, try to source good used parts so you don't end up spending too much and do the work yourself if possible.

i just got a 2000 SH with auto as well. it's got the h22a4. i can do all the work myself to swap over the trans, i just want to make sure that i get everything i need in order to do it all at once. i was thinking i'd need: new manual trans, shift linkage, bushings, shifter, new center console for shifter location, instrument cluster, new ecu and axles. That about right? Would i need a new motor mount to fit the manual trans? What trans code would I be looking for?
