I have a f22b1 block and a f22a1 head. The block seems to be a 94-97 accord vtec bottom end with a 92-96 prelude sohc head. I tried a gates t187 timing belt for the prelude and it was too long. So I tried one for the 94-97 accord vtec and too long too. With the tensioner maxed out it’s too loose. I checked the water pumps between the engines and they are the same part numbers as well as the tensioners. Both are the same between engines. Does anyone know a belt that would work?
All the blocks are the same deck height. Only the VTEC model cylinder heads are slightly taller and require a slightly longer belt. Since you are using a non-vtec head then a non-vtec belt for any F22A/F22B2 is correct for your application. If you're having issues with one of those then you have another problem somewhere else.
It ended up being the bottom crank gear. It is smaller on the vtec engine. I took the gear off of the engine I got the head from and it is definitely larger
