Default electrical question

my friend brought his 92 accord over with a h22 swap and i looked at his motor and he had a sensor here.

my h22 doesnt have 1 its caped as u see in the picture above so i took that sensor that normally that is there and pluged it into.... here will this work?

that leaves me with only 1 wire to run for vtec right this 1 or am i wrong ...

feedback is needed and welcome thanks sorry for stupid noob questions doing the swap with no money nore help. Learning experience for me also.

You have the coolant temperature sensor wired ok. My own engine has the same blank on the radiator hose end and I dont see it being a problem being connected there or to the cylinder head in your second picture. You will be fine

It is hard for me to make out where the wire is coming from in the third picture.
If its the VTEC control wire, it will be a single GREEN/WHITE wire. The connector looks the same too.

i was told i had to run some vtec wires but it seems i only have 1 wire to run to the ecu?

Yes that is right. You only need to run 1 wire to the ECU for VTEC control.
