Default EL cluster conversion

I've searched but none of those threads answer my questions.

soo heres my dilemma:

I have an AT. Yes I know AT is gay.. 92 SI 4WS. I recently got an 94 EL cluster without the 4ws indicator. Is there a way to take that out of my analog cluster and put it onto my digita EL one?

Also I do not have the dash harness and I would like to splice the wires since I can't seem to find the harness anywhere. Does anyone know which wires are for the 4ws indicator?

and when not using the 94+ harness.. did anyone fix the tripmeter problem with the EL gauge swap. the problem from what i read was that when shutting off the car, the trip meter would reset. anyone correct this problem?

Why do you want an indicator? maybe so people will believe you when you say your car steers with all four wheels? not sure but as long as you know its working i wouldnt worry about the indicator

umm because if i have an error i want to know. it works similar to the check engine light and will flash multiple times depending on the error. so besides someone trying to get smart, does anyone have any real answers to my questions?

Ignore him, he's just jealous.

Here is the EL wire diagram with the 4ws light, the pink wire goes to the 4ws ecu. Its the same with the non EL cluster.

I don't know what you mean by the trip reseting it's self after the car shutting off, you mean the EL gauge trip going back down to 0? Or the overall mileage of the gauge going back down to 0?

well for one thing, i can't find one anywhere.
2nd, what does the dash harness connect to? because i have my 92-93 fog light switch up there. i'd prefer to re-wire because i can't find any 94+ dash harnesses plus not to mention i have 4ws.

?
no other fix to the trip-meter reset other than just changing the harness? or which wires are for the 4ws??? or if i could just add the bulb into the non 4ws cluster????

I just got a 94 4ws EL cluster! I'll be installing it as soon as I get the inverter and wire harness. I'll let you know how it goes.

there is a way to get the trip to "remember" the value. If you are not using a 94-96 harness you have to run a wire to the clock harness. You have to tap into a constant 12V source.

Having a Helms to refer to is pretty much essential for wiring the conversion...it took so much trial and error for me to get mine working correctly when I didn't have one. Now that I have one, I see how easier it would be...

Good luck
