ECU troubles (CEL code 16)...
A few weeks ago I installed a chipped p72/hondata s200 (used) into my 5th gen. A few days after trouble-free my car started acting up. To see the symptoms, check this old thread I made about it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2384708
The problem went away and drove fine for a week. Then I had the problem again recently, and it has yet to be fixed. So I decided to read the CEL code I was getting. Well I got code 16 which is an injector code. I was hoping my injectors weren't faulty since I have to remove the supercharger altogether to get to them, so I did some trial and error and got this:
1. Plugged in stock P5M ECU, no codes, but won't run correctly since I have 550cc injectors
2. Plugged in P72 WITHOUT the Hondata unit, got a solid CEL, no flashing codes (I'm guessing this would happen anyways since the s200 now controls the ECU)
3. Plugged in s200 to the P72 and got code 16
Going by this it seems that error is coming from the s200 and not from faulty injectors or a bad ECU. My question is where do I go from here? Do I need to spend $xxx to have the Hondata software to go in and correct the error? I can't drive the car, so I can't take it to a licensed Hondata dealer to check it out...I'm stuck.
EDIT: I meant P72, not P28, my bad...
