Check Engine light??
i have a 2001 Honda Prelude with 50K on the motor and this is the first time in about a year after i had the car my Check Engine Light came on? can anyone help me and tell me why it would come on?
Dude you have something wrong with your car!! Don't panic Just take it to a autozone or advance auto to get it checked out!!! Tell them to run a scan on ur car.
but check this out ive had this car for about a year now and its never done this? why is it happening now? why would it be he ecu I've never messed with any plugs or fuses ever. the only maintenance i do is oil change
don't panic. . . i could be something as simple as a loose or defective gas cap. take it to autozone, have someone pull the code and start from there. have them print out the diagnostic trouble code and get back on here and post the number. it should be something like example (p0300-random multiple cylinder missfire).

k i went to PEPBOYS and they told me that it was my air intake sensor.. but even they couldn't figure it out. they said it could be a relay of some sort, but after the diagnostic this is what they came up with

replace the IAT sensor.</TD></TR></TABLE> x2

all pulling the battery cable loose was reseting the computer. the iat is bad the cel will come back on. the only other reason it would throw that code is if the iat got unplugged somehow. btw it is on the driver side of the intake manifold.

yeah i know i took off the battery wire. then relised the iat was out so i plugged it back in., then put the batterywire back on. but the light came on again, so i unplugged it for a good 30 seconds and it worked.
