i was wondering something. ok my cel light is off when i have the jumper thing unplugged. thats cool i like that. it means something isn't wrong. lol. but when i jump the cel plug the light comes on and just stays on. i thought if you don't have a problem the light would stay off even if the connector is plugged. whats going on here?

 

Wait. First, are you jumping the connector and driving around like that? If so, why?

Second, when you jump the connector and turn the key forward to the ON position, most of the lights should come on (CEL, ATTS, ABS, etc).

 

no no. see this is what im doing. i had a few things go out on the car so the light came on. i jumped the harness and it told me what was going on. so now i tinkered with the car a bit and finally the cel light went off. so just curious, i jumped it again just to be sure the lights were all off. when i turn the ignition to on the lights all come on and then turn off as they should. but with the harness jumped the cel light stays on. its the only one that stays on. but when i take the jump out of the harness the light goes away.

 

Try pulling your clock/radio fuse.

It resets the ECU, clearing any stored CEL DTCs.
