bogs after motor install??
after i got my motor put in it seems to bogg at low RPM. not the started prelude bog..but kinda misses. thought maybe the fuel pressure was low but seems good. about 46psi with the hose plugged in. checked the plugs an here what they look like. there new. only about 25 miles. so i dont know it if its white because of that. i dont see any white spec. just looks a little white an crome.
sorry for the bad pic.
one problem that ive been haing is that there isnt any fuel pressure in the lines after i turn the car off. it should have some pressure (30psi) it just seems to drain back out. i think when i was messing with my fuel pump i m ight have not done something. ant ideas?

Is the 5th gen pump accesed by a cover inside the car like the 4th gens? you could have a tiny leak in a rubber hose bleeding off fuel pressure inside the tank, that sucks man, hope you figure it out.
i dont know. made mark before taken off the dizzy. an put it back in the same spot. but i guess it all depends on where the pistons where. right? when i got the motor bak it was at TDC. How would i check the timming. i have an idea.
pull the rubber thing off off the tranny. hook up timming gin to cyl #1. point gun in hole of rubber thing. but then from there im too sure what im goin to be lookin for.

and make sure the car is warmed up and at low idle, 750rpm? and also hook up the jumper on the ecu plug.
watch the lights..
good luck
the timing belt streches some over time so it affect the ignition timing. the correct position for the ignition timing from one engine to the next maybe different.
the cam is notched so you can only put the dizzy on the right way.

could an exhaust leak do that. i think where my manifold connects to the down pipe theres a leak. i can hear it. when i give it rev it up from under the hood i can see exhaust come out from that area. could that be the problem?
sounds kinda like timing to me...your right about the fuel pressure at shutoff..it should go down slowly for a few mins...do you have a fuel pressure gauge to see if its dropping too fast? those plugs look slighty too white
yeah. i disconnect the battery an then go turn the key on. then i go back under the hood an connected the battery. it goes up then drops back down to 0. would the seal around plate in the back cause this problem. it started doing this after i messed with it.
so u think the bogging it timming? even on an obd2 car?

Im pretty sure the ecu totally controls the timing on odb2 ludes, there is no slots for retarding/advancing the dist like on 4th gens.
You could have a faulty Knock sensor, if it only bogs during closed loop(engine at normal operating temp) and bogs between 2-3k rpms. During the bogging does your exhaust tone get alot louder?
Make sure te ks threads are clean. If it is your ks then your very lucky you have a base. If sh then the atts box gets to come out to remove the ks

KS is good.
I dont have a SH
I dont have a CEL iether. wouldnt i get a cel if i mixed up some sensors.
fuel filter is new.
so people saying you cant retartd the timming for nitrous because its obd2 an the ecu does that?? i would think you could

SteveoBAB and 98Vtec might be right. because I have the same problem. my car was runing fine when I didnt have a knock sensor and throwing a knock sensor code but ever since I put in the knock sensor the cars been bogging out. maybe I do have a bad knock sensor.
A knock sensor CAN be faulty and Not trigger a cel, my ks was the cause of my bogging. Nothing visible wrong with it at all. Put the new one in, walla fixed. I checked/tested everything, there is a huge official bogging thread, search for it and compare your symtons. Most peoples problems were incorrect igntion timing(on obd1 systems, most people dont know to jump the service connector when setting ign timing)
it doesnt bogg all the time. like this morrning. it ran fine.i got on in also. no problem. even on the way back from home. i really dont think its that. im going to look at the fuel pump to day an clean the Egr.
