Wanting to replace a blown black top 2.2 with a blue top from Japan what modifications need to be done to make this work in 1998 Prelude?

Check out this thread!

In terms of just slapping in a (hopefully) known good engine, most people put an H22A4 oil pump on it and run all USDM ignition components, since most people use the left hand drive harness from their car, not the one off the engine.

If this is your first swap prepare to be a little overwhelmed at first, but it's all good

see that it would be also wise to new all the seals and gaskets there + timing components + clutch

Here's a list of what you needed to swap from your old motor to this motor in order to keep it all as if it came in the car factory

-intake manifold
-dizzy
-ignition coil
-oil pump
-crank sensors
-motor harness

No need for any extra wiring or special ecu. If you swapped these parts over, car would run normal.
