Default BLEW IT UP

Well.........I blew up my H23. Anybody got a used motor in good shape for cheap in virginia? Im new to the honda scene so i dont know a whole lot about them. i was into minitrucks. What other motors can i put in it without having to swap wiring harnesses? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

How the hell did you do that? I had a 92 SI that I ran hard for 8 years and never had a problem with it. Sold it to a kid and he blew it up within 6 months.

It blew the oil cooler o-ring out and the balance shaft locked up, in turn breaking the oil pump and destroyin the bottom end. I havent had the car long. Six months maybe. trying to come up with money to put a motor in it now.

You might consider using this as an opportunity to upgrade to an H22. The two motors both have their pros and cons, but there is more aftermarket support for the H22 if that's what you're going for. Though you will obviously have to swap the engine harness which you seem to be against.

Operative word being kid. It comes from inexperience with a clutch, that and the need to red line the hell out of it.

Shout out to the O.R. crew.

the h23 wiring harness works on the h22...
also you could look to a h22 auto swap with auto trans, or source the h22 auto trans elsewhere.

Yea i checked there but they are either more than I have to spend or its not an H23. See I'm trying to stay stock because a)this is my daily driver, and b)i don't have the money to do any kind of swap the proper way. I really just need to get my car back on the road. The girlfriend is on my ***

If your looking for something stock just find a f22a, same harness don't need to worry about wiring vtec, and will bolt to your transmission also cheap... Junkyards have them dirt cheap in Va, i live in Charlottesville and the Junk yard M&M auto salvage has them all the time, i got a f23 short-block for 100 dollars.

edit: Also check craigslist i see full motors f-series on there all the time...

F22 and f23 are single cams but are very easy to find. Most accords 91-02 will have one.
