The best weight reduction
Sound deadening is the "sound proofing" within our cars. it's in the doors, under the carpet etc. You need to scrape it off, a real pain to do honestly.
There are multiple threads on weight reduction on the Prelude forums.... of which cannot be named here if i'm not mistaken lol.
the back seats are just over 23lbs.... front seats are 27lbs each, and as mentioned the sunroof and motor are about 60lbs.
Every Prelude runs differently, I have a friend with a hy-tech replica header and Greddy exhaust that's done 14.8 in the 1/4. (he's an sh at that)
With simple bolt ons (intake/header/exhaust) and possibly changing your vtec engagement down somewhere below 5k - you can pull 14.2 (yes it has been done)
^^ this is all in regards to a 5th gen 'lude
I go by the "100lbs lost = -.1 on the 1/4"
I've yet to run myself, i'd like to do a little more to the car before I embarrass myself lol. I've lost over 70lbs from removing simple things I never use. (keeping ac/ps/abs)

To get up the sound deadening just let dry ice sit on it and it will shrink and come up off the metal floor pan.
Another good one is to remove the thick metal poles in the door that are there for side impact protection but would probably only be wise if the car wasn't street driven.

If your not using the back seats, remove that and all the brackets along with the spair tire, carbon fiber hood. If you dont use ac then remove that and if you dont like as abs unit id remove that aswell.
As someone mentioned use dry ice. Place the dry ice on the sound deading, you will here if start to crack and go at it with an air hammer, or you could just use a flat head screwdriver, or Something to that affect.
Sideview mirrors are not light either, ditch them for some cheap knock offs... The factory ones are at least 10lbs and you can get some that weigh 1 Pound. The door bars can be cut out with a plasma cutter or torch, just run water on the outside of the door to keep the paint from melting. Rear sway bars can go, the metal that runs the length of the car for the exhaust can go, lighterfaster.com sells a sunroof plug that takes 48-49 lbs off. AC, power steering, a smaller battery, CF hood, I'm making an aluminum trunk and my friend is making me an aluminum fuel cell.
As my car sits in SFWD trim with a cromoly cage it weighs 2370 without me, with the new fuel cell and trunk it will drop more. You can remove bumper supports, but if you drive the car on the road, get an JDM bumper supporte, they weigh nothing compared to our USDM supports.
The back seats have some stupid heavy metal plates that can be taken out.
Take the door panels off and scrape all the furry looking **** off, it doesn't weigh much, but in a prelude, everything helps.
I run full interior from front seat up, just no passenger seat and I am getting rid of the factory spedo and will eventually put a Racepak in it. Balance shafts can go and quite a few other things.
I would be even lighter if I didn't have to stick by certain rules. My car will weigh 2450 with me before it's all over with, it just takes time and a little bit of sweat.:
When I weighed it, it had the heavy *** factory rims on it too, not my drag rims.
Good luck
it probably felt fast.. but it most likely wasn't if the prelude was stock. a lot more variables weighs into your test drives, such as the integra's condition. maybe the prelude's condition was far better than the other non-prelude cars you've tested. as far as the torque... the prelude has really low torque [stock]. the transmission has a lot to do with that. thats why people with h22s go for a b series tranny... b series would not fit into a prelude tho.lol
