Yup
Although sometimes just lookin at the valves in the head won't tell you b/c they can get "tweaked" enough so that they don't sit flat in the valve seat, but they look straight.
Do a compression and/or leakdown test.

i had a guy tell me that u can hold a dollar in front of ur muffler and if it sucks it twrds the muffler, u have a bent valve...sounds a little crazy..is this true?
First off we need to know why you believe you have a bent valve? Rough idle, As well as what engine and when the noise started? The best test to start with is a cylinder leakage test as a compression test will not pinpoint the problem as well. Suspected piston to TDC on the compression/power .. . If you hear air leaking from the carburator or fuel injection intake you have a leaking intake valve. If you hear air out of the exhaust you have a leak past the exhaust valve(s).
-what you have heard about the dollar bill being sucked into the end of an exhaust pipe will pinpoint a burned/leaking exhaust valve each time that cylinder has an intake stroke.

ok i think i have a bent valve because i just noticed this rattle or tick in the vavle cover right near the belts. its not really that loud but i dont sound normal.so i figured i had a bent valve.
