hi i just replaced my belts and its squeaking(only when cold).first question is how do i reach the bottom pulleys so i can spray on them from the side. and second how much dressing should i spray?(the whole can?)

 

The belts shouldn't be squeaking if they're adjusted properly. You should check and make sure they're not too loose or too tight. And don't waste the whole can... just spray a little at a time.

 

i only hear it squeaking alittle when i start the engine in the morning if it still squeaks then i will have to bring it back to the shop.

 

Mine does the same thing after starting on a cold morning then goes away after a few seconds...

HOWEVER, I live in Maine which is like living in the Artic Circle...and the ONLY Time mine squeals is when its like 0 to -> -15+ F.

I'm guessing in San Fran is more like 30-40 F on a "cold" Morning so you prob do have some issue...

 

it is most likely belt tension, take it back to the shop and have them check it.

 

It could just be an accesory belt.

 

Adjust it first to the correct tension, then lightly spray some belt dressing on it
