Default Balance shaft re-install

I tried searching and could not come up with any real answer about re-installing the balance shafts in an H22. And I know, I know, the "cool" thing to do is remove them, but I'm not. Where or how do you set the timing on those shafts without having the head on the motor? The only answers I found were based if you have the head on the motor and just setting the timing on the pulley, not re-installing the shafts and setting the timing. Ay help would be great!

For the front shaft, there's a hole going through it that you line up with the mark on the block/housing. Look at it and it'll be obvious. For the rear shaft: there's a bolt on the back of the block that you remove. Stick a long bolt through the hole and into the balance shaft to line it up.

If you have a helms look at it, it's made very clear. If not, get one from www.helminc.com

No helms, only a Haynes which doesn't seem to cover it.
