Check out this site, it isn't bad http://www.lightningmotorsports.com/...ai_install.htm

You can also check out this site: http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-inta...h-intake.shtml

I used a dremmel (sp?) to widen the hole. It was a pain in the a$$, but it's well worth the trouble!

Let me know if I can help ya w/ anything else...good luck.

Yes, you'll have to cut the hole to make it wider. I just used a saw to cut perpendicular to the edge at a few points then just used pliers to bend it back. I didn't want to completely cut away the hole just in case I wanted to put things back. But yes, the instructions didn't say anything about removing the solenoid and I had to relocate that to a nearby place. Just took a spare bolt from the original airbox and used that to secure the solenoid to its new home.

The main problem you will have will come from ONE screw when you try to take the resonator out. You'll have to take out the sidemarker and work your way around some stuff to unscrew it. Anyways... good luck on the install. You'll love it when you do finally get it done though. VTEC sounds much much better (although it's hard for me to tell cause I have an Apexi N1 exhaust which is wayyyy loud)

As far as the bypass valve. I live in Arizona. There is NO WAY in hell I will ever need that thing. And IMO, you wouldn't need it anywhere you go. Just don't floor it when driving through puddles and don't drive too fast in rain. Simple as that. Save your money. Buy a fuel pressure regulator with your savings.

AEM CAI comes with detailed instructions. Its pretty much a no brainer once you start doing it. Yes you will have to widen the hole by cutting it, I used a dremel. After I covered the edge of the hole all around with some weather strip to prevent rusting and for a clean look. A bypass valve is not necessary, I would still be careful but even when it rains its not that bad cuz I still have my wheel well on which covers above the tire and below the front of the car so I don't see major water getting in anyways, unless you car was submerged in water. As far as the solenoid it is located on the upper left of you battery it is a black box with vacuum lines connected. This will be removed for mounting of the CAI. If you can't figure it out you will notice the line that is connected from you resonator to the solenoid. Take the solenoid out and also you will need to remove the line from the solenoid to the throttle. Don't worry AEM will supply a cap to close the nipple off at the throttle body.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions feel free to e-mail me. Vgenprelude@aol.com
