I was wondering what motor comes in the 1989 prelude si?

 

I owned one bought it off an old lady it was fresh, comes with a b20a 135hp. Smooth car fun car!

 

Yes, it will be a B20, but not the same B-series from Civics/Integras/CRVs, etc. I believe there were 2 varieties in the 3G Preludes, but I do not know the details. Check pre lude pow er .com (without the spaces) in the 3rd gen forum for better info

 

88-89 preludes.... american versions
"s" had b20a3.... dual carb motors..
"si" had b20a5... 2.0 fuel injection, the JDM version was just b20a

90-91 preludes....
2.0 si models......... obd1 with a 2.0 motor... some came with b20a
si models............ obd1 with a 2.1 motor...b21a1.. known for burning oil because of the material the piston sleeves were made of...

And to the OP, before you ask what motors can you swap, I will answer this question right now.

I support the H22/23 or F series motor swaps in the 88-91 Preludes. Its the only swap that is mass produced, and heavily supported, the other B series motors are custom one off mounts for right now and no company sells or makes them.

I can get them made but I need to see real numbers before anything is done.
