It should be easy, and only cost around $3.00 Canadian!

not to sound like a dick... but that is a complete waste of money. any money you put into your car i 99.999% guarantee you that you will not be able to get back, plus its gonna cost you out the ****. save up, buy a newer model car with parts more readily available. some people say "but i cant afford a new car" well if you can afford to do ALL that custom work just to keep your car, then im sure you can afford a 89 crx, 92 hatch, or another car under 1k that can be modified far easier.

figure around 15 grand all said and done. Call up John Haley Motorsports @ 952-922-0400 and talk to those dudes. They will send a trailer to pick it up.

the motor swap will cost 8k regardless of who does it, As for the tranny you need a quaife box and a custom bellhouseing your looking at about 15k for that then you need brakes and by now i would say it would be cool but not worth it. i have an 85 prelude and it there ar plenty of things to do it it with out watching to much F&F. don't be lazy shift the damn car......

ok go ahead and do it yourself... its a waste of money though. were just trying to look out for you. let us know how it comes along.... youd be better buying a car for 1k, doing a swap for 2500, throwing nos on it and running 13s easily with slicks.... thats just my .02

what the cheapest car that i can buy that i can do a lot to to make it faster. my little brother has a '92 si hatch that's pretty quick. i think it's an si, anyways. right now i don't have a liscence, so i'm looking @ finding a project car (f&f style) where's the best place 2 find something like that? i have the place 2 build the car, just need the car and parts. (yes, i'm a rookie @ this, so PLEASE bear with me...LOL)

ummmm.......no
I had a 97 Auto Lude that I put button shifters in:
http://www.reddotmotorsports.com/ima...0Shifters.html

But after many discussions in the Prelude forum (do a SEARCH) and personal experience, a sequential shifter is not going to be faster than a 5-speed.

I was just playing around. I had problems with the wires wraping around the steering wheel. I was going to wire the buttons through the horn buttons, but they are connected to the same wire-wrap as the air-bag. I didn't feel confertable playing around with that.

listen to smokey the bear. take your brothers hatch and drop a b18c in it, throw a 50 shot of nos on it then gut it out. youll run 13s, much faster then that 96 prelude would EVER run with such little mods.

first off dropping that engine into that year prelude is very difficult. Lots of hacking at the firewall and shocktowers. It's better and easier to get anything 92-95 honda and do a drop on it. or an old school CRX 88-91. A sequential gear box will run you mucho diniro around 20grand and up. The paddle thing is pretty easy it looks like if you already have a sports tronic shifter.

I'll just **** up your life, I know but a real sequential trany cost like 60 grand, you know the one they got in world cup rally, they broke one per race often, but whoo care, you got the $$$ to waste, put a h22 in it, turbo, on a 5 speed, nitrous sprayed, you will get enough thing to do for you self this way, and belieeve me it will pull f-*-ck'n hard, really hard,
just my two cent,
see ya and what ever you take good luck!!

thats my older brother. (C Rob) i talked to him and at first thought he was just doing the automatic with the manual shifters (like the new Toyota MR-S) and i thought it came in certain models of the newer preludes. how hard would just a b16 be to put in, the first gen cables? i saw an 89 lude with a b16 on ebay, and it looked pretty straight forward. what he's asking is just what can he do (cost effective) to get him on par with my civic?

thanks

Used JDM B20A (143 hp) and extra parts/gaskets - $1K
LudeSPEED turbo kit - $2.3K
Not spending all you hard earned money on stupid **** that won't run - Priceless

You will thank us in a few years, we were all rookies at one time... Give him a break.
