4th gen calipers, vtec same size as si????
USDM Preludes from 91-97 have the same front calipers. 2.25" p/n d351458 from advanced. To make the swap to vtec rotors you'll need the vtec caliper brakets. Brake torque increases by 11% by going from si rotors to vtec rotors.

where does that figure come from?

Check hondaautomotiveparts.com. It lists the 92-01 vtec or non caliper piston as the same part number too.
Brake Torque (lbs-ft)= R x PA x LP x #P x COF / 12
R= disc radius
PA= piston area
LP= line pressure in psi
#P= number of pads
COF= pad coefficient of friction

The VTEC and Si calipers have different part numbers... I do not think they are the same thing thing.
But the calipers for ALL VTEC preludes are the same.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The VTEC calipers are bigger than the Si calipers. So are the rotors. Correct?? I am confused now.

I am 100% positive that both the rotors & calipers are larger on the VTEC than on the Si. I have both VTEC & Si calipers (for the 4th gen), rotors & brake pads for both in my basement & all 3 are larger on the VTEC brake set-up.
The only thing that might be the same size is the piston for the caliper. I think we're all getting confused as to what is the caliper. Remember that a caliper has two parts: the caliper itself (which contains the piston, bleeder, etc.) & the caliper bracket. Both of these parts you can order seperately. The bracket is the part of the caliper that holds the brake pads. Since the brake pads are larger for the VTEC brakes, then it makes sense that the caliper bracket would also be larger. So in one sense, the calipers are the same (piston size equal in both models) but the VTEC caliper bracket is larger......So did I confuse you even more
