Default 3rd gen ?

i have a 3rd gen prelude with the b20a5 motor in it and i want to swap heads with the 2.0 vtec does anyone know anything about this and what head to use? or would it be cheaper to put a hole different motor in it. thanks

isn't D16 a single cam?
you mean B16 head on a B20A5 block? that would work with some mods.

why put a 1.6 on a 2.0 or dont they make a 2.0 with vtec?

B16A head is the only one that can actually be modified to fit. i'm not sure about B18C head... that might be possible too. B16A head is also best bang for the buck.

go to http://www.ludespeed.com and see if tom still has a conversion available for the 3rd gen prelude. he is the man to talk to about doing the vtec conversion (and by the way, there is no 2.0 vtec head). that conversion kit uses the b16 head.

you can fit a B18C1 or B18C5 head on there, they WILL require modification, you can also put a B17 head (92-93 GS-R), anything will really require some modifications. i, myself am in the process of building an LS/VTEC (same principal). i have also got a friend with a 3rd gen, we researched all possibilities, and for all the trouble you will go through for a B20 vtec, you might as well spend the extra few hundred and drop an H22 in that bad boy. H22 power is the way to go!!!
