Ok so I happen to be really good friends with the Honda parts girl at my local dealership. She is regularly a part of meetings that discuss the future of Honda Motor Co. and it's products. The latest and biggest news she's fed me is that the S2000 will be discontinued (if not discontinued already, I don't keep up with that damn car.) and replaced in late 2008 by a Prelude comeback. Nothing specific has been released yet but the rumors are V6 or K series RWD Roadster to continue with the "poor man's porsche" reputation. Has anyone else heard about this? I know there was originally talk of a 2002 prelude (6th Gen) but it never made it to production. It was really ugly anyway. Hopefully it won't be the design for the 2008 model; if these rumors are true. I'm usually really late on news like this so I'm prepared to get ripped apart. Fill me in on the details if this isn't anything new.

It would be nice if they made a new prelude. Of course it would be nice if they made a new nsx too. I don't know what's up with honda these days. The s2200 was 700 lbs too heavy, but with it gone none of their cars are interesting to me any more. The K series is the only good thing I've seen from them in a few years. Maybe when gas is 10 bux a gallon all these suv morons will buy cars again and we'll see some cool stuff on the market.

the S2000 is still around for model year 2008 with the new CR trim level going on sale this fall

More than likely the rumors of a new prelude are around a more aggressive accord coupe for 2008 which has already been verified by the honda accord coupe concept and recent spy shots from indiana

Your friendly parts department might be able to find you the right bolts and washers but they are clueless about future product.
