Icon2 1997 Prelude - Is this safe?

Hey guys first post

So i was driving home the other day and my speedo and odometer stopped working. I figured out it was the VSS, so i have ordered a new one. But i still need my car until it gets here. So i downloaded a speedo app on my phone. I tested it in my mums car and it is surprisingly accurate.

So i was wondering, is it safe and OK for the car to be driven without the actual speedo not working? will it stuff anything up?

Thanks,
Caleb

I drove my old civic without the speedo for a year.

Just go with the flow of the traffic and you'll be fine mate.

^ x2. I drove around for a few months with an intermittently working speedo in my tl. However, be aware that depending on your state it might be illegal for your odometer to not work. The only law I know off hand is in cali: any vehicle newer than ten years old must have a working odometer. Obviously that doesn't apply to you but you may wanna watch out for posterity's sake.
