Default quick rear stand question

does everyone use just their rear stands when leaving the bike at home overnight or prolonged times instead of using the kick stand? will just using the rear stand for long periods of time warp the front tire due to the pressure? thanx in advance.

Long periods of time? As in storing over the winter? Yes, it'll warp the tire(s).

what about just 2-3 days at a time, is it better using the kick stand or the rear stand?

I never use the kickstand, unless I'm at a place that doesn't have a rear stand. You should see UCB though, he takes his rear stand with him to starbucks

I only use my rear stand on special occasions... sometimes for maintenance work, sometimes when i know kids might be over at the house (they are prone to knocking things over)

Other than that, I always use the kickstand

It's a lot stronger than most people will give it credit for

I've left my bike on a kickstand for two weeks with no problems.

As a matter of habit I always prop my bikes up on stands, I just feel better. While it only happened once, did did come out one time and found that the bike had fallen on its side... user error, but with the rear stand there is little room for lazy side stand placement.

That's just my preference though... Personally I am so wacky, I actually do a physical walk around and safety check every time prior to firing up and setting off, something missing in todays rider I am sure

I only use stands if i'm working on the bike or if it's going to be sitting for a long time, like a few months.

This was my first winter riding since i graduated so I had access to my bike year round. Even though I only got to ride it a couple times during the winter I only had the bike on its kickstand. There were plenty of occasions during the winter where someone needed to move my bike to get to theirs or something, and having my bike on stands would have been inconvenient.
