No title
I went through a title service with mine. It's getting harder and more expensive by the year, but I paid $125 and got a title and registration from Maine (I live in NY lol). All I needed to do was to send in a bill of sale that I had my local motorcycle junkyard owner make for me, proof of insurance, and some notarized paperwork confirming the VIN and some other stuff. Good luck.

125? My DMV site says $4 plus notary fees. What the?
Also would I have to get insurance BEFORE I can have it registered?

Yeah, the title service is a 3rd party company that uses some sort of loophole in the system to get titles for bikes that have no paperwork at all. The alternative is to go to a state inspection station that will look over all the part numbers on your bike to make sure nothing is stolen. This costs upwards of $150 I believe.
