msf course
As probably shown by my last post, i just bought a new bike.
I wanted to take a MSF safety course but im not sure if i want to take the experienced rider or the beginner. I have some motorcycle experience, probably a few hundred miles riding experience, and im not an idiot. Basically i dont want to pay $300 for a beginner course and learn nothing. On the other hand, I dont want to take the experienced rider course and be over my head. What is the difference between the beginner and experienced rider courses? Does anyone think i would be prepared for the experienced one? I get the impression that the beginner is mostly for people with no clue.

Also, many insurance companies give a discount for taking it.
The advanced course is for those that have been riding for some time, and want to learn more about their bike, and how to control it.
You think the beginner course will teach you nothing, but I have been riding since 1991, and I learned something I forgot over the years.
The swerve technique.
After taking the course, I can do a U-turn in 1 lane, I am more aware of what's going on around me, and I feel a LOT more confident riding.
And, after some practice on my bike, I can now come to a complete stop without putting a foot down, and then take off right afterwards.
I'm working on this with a rider, and I'm getting close.
