I've never had a problem with my JR jackets. It won't flow very much with only a few zipper vents. Do you already have leathers?

I fell down (knocked down) at 30mph, and my JR (textile) jacket held up fine. It was the impact that messed up my clavicle.

IMO, leather is the best protection you can get for the thickness. For textile to be at a comparable level, the material would be too thick. But, textile is also easier to wear in different types of weather.
