Default Jacket Sizing Question

Alright, so I have a little problem. Im literally right in between sizes on jackets. I went ahead and ordered a size 36/46 (Alpinestars SMK) from a local moto dealer took it home and realized it was incredibly tight in the armpitt, almost to a restrictive point. My chest measures out to a size 38/48 but everything else is in a 36/46. What do suggest I do?

Are there any jackets that you could recommend that maybe have a better cut? I tried on some Dainese at the Ducati dealership and those seemed to rub in my armpits as well in a 36/46.

I don't want to have a jacket that's too baggy and not provide as much protection, yet I don't wan't to feel like I'm stuck in my jacket without being able to move.

Have you tried Joe Rocket? They fit a bit larger.

The sales rep at my local store said to not even bother with Joe Rocket because they have an "american cut" whereas I need more of the "european/italian cut" (i.e. Spidi, Dainese). But, I will try to look into Joe Rocket, thanks!

Doesn't hurt to try on other brands. I never tried on A* because I was sure they didn't fit my fat-***. I tried on a 50US suit and found it to fit PERFECTLY.

You believe that? To me it sounds like they wanted to make a little more commission off you. Why would you need a style of jacket that obviously fails to fit you to your liking?

I had the same problem with a Joe Rocket jacket, I got the size bigger and Im still happy. Just try on absolutely everything you local shop has to offer, see which fit you like the most, and go from there.

No, the guy was incredibly helpful, my dealer didnt even carry Spidi or Dainese and they had to send me to the Ducati dealer and some other dealers to find those jackets. So it wasnt anything based off comission for him.

And yeah, I'm probably going back today or tomorrow and checking out some of the other jackets.

Just wondering what your chest measures? I haven't tried on any real jackets yet (other than one Icon medium that was like mesh) but think I'm going to run into the same problem.
