As long as they are snell and dot approved they are good, but how good are these helmets? considering quality, I know you get what you pay for, I was considering of purchasing one from them for my girl and prob one for myself, thanks all!

well I was talking with an EMT guy today and he had a horror story for me. A rider was thrown from his bike, landing head first on the curb. Had a dent going down the middle of the helmet. The ambulance came and asked how he was feeling, he said he felt okay other than his hands and feet feeling weird. One of the EMT guys decided to take off the helmet to help him breath better, but turns out his skull was split in half and the helmet was the only thing holding his head together...
I personally wouldn't get anything less than Shoei or Arai, although I am really tempted to pick up the Icon Burner as a second helmet. If I'm correct, most of the cheaper helmets merely meet DOT or SNELL expectations, Shoei and Arai more than exceeds them.

i would never trust my noggin in something that costs $42 @ retail. Meaning it likely cost less than $20 to make. Despite the obvious quality issue I would have to assume those would be about the most uncomfortable helmets out there.
Stick with the brands you see the pros wearing: Arai, Shoei, Suomy, AGV, HJC. If those guys can lose it at 200MPH and walk away ...
I have an arai quantum f, but I have heard the suomys are very comfortable and well made.

my brother and i are planning on purchasing a pocket bike haha (not those really small ones that you have to get in the "**** position" to ride, but the 49cc ones i believe)
anyways he wanted to buy one of those helmets to use with the pocket bike, i think i just got blind sighted just because of the "DOT" or "SNELL" approval, but yeah i think these helmets would be alright for less serious purposes

HONESTLY, wouldn't you feel real stupid if you got SERIOUSLY injured and it all could have been prevented if you spent $100 more for a quality helmet! Also, dont just think about the crashing factor, those helmets are going to be WAAAY heavier than a more expensive helmet. Stop being cheap and shell out the cash, it's not that much more!
BTW, i would still spend that extra cash for a drag car helmet. they're set up for cars.
Motorcycle helmets are designed to protect against singular impacts. Auto racing helmets are designed to protect against multiple impacts within the cockpit of a vehicle. There are also many other design difference not limited to field of vision, venting, aerodynamics, whiplash, etc.
I have a Shoei Syncrotec, bought it new for 370 shipped, but being a newbie I got the wrong size and I need to sell it and get a smaller size or just another new helmet, anyone wana purchase it?

dont get that helmet for $42. I have it and paid 100bux for it when i first bought my bike. I had no clue on what was good/bad so the dealer ripped me a new one selling me that piece of ****. That helmet is the most uncomfortable piece of **** ever. Wind noise galore also. I ditched it a couple months after i got my bike and got a agv xvent which is like 10x better.
You know what i use that old helmet for now? I use it as a face shield to protect my eyes and face when i'm cutting metal or dremeling metal for my cages...works great at that... Thats about the only thing i would trust it for.

More important that being DOT and SNELL rated, I would compare the actual rating... most helmets are rated, some more poorly than others... your head is not joke, spend the money to save it.
