Default Face shield Question

I was looking for a diffrent face shield other then the clear one. I have a Shoei RF-1000 helmet. A friend told me you don't have any problems seeing out of the mirror shield at night because its just a lense cover. The smoke ones you do have a problem seeing out of at night because they are actually a dark shield compared to just a lense cover like the mirror shields. Is this true? I didn't want to be changing out my shields all the time depending if its night or day out.

Thanks
Chris

I would think the tinted shield would be harder to see out, yes. It would be like window tint on a car.

I have the mirrored one on my SHOEI, and at night, it's a bit more difficult to see through. However, during the day, it's perfect.

Some people I know carry 2 shields with them and switch them off since SHOEI's helmets have easy access to un-clipping and re-clipping the shields.
