Default 600RR CA Version vs. 49 State Version

Can anybody tell me all the differencces between the CA version and the 49 state version of the 2004 600RR? Cams, computer, HP, torque, etc.

I'm looking at a sweet deal on a CA bike, but I"m not sure of all the differences.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Manufacturers have been doing a pretty good job about not losing any considerable amount of power on CA bikes. I'm willing to bet the only changes would be in the computer....and you might be looking at 2 hp.

I don't know if this helps but when i bought my hayabusa the only difference i noticed was that the cali version had a smaller gas tank by .5 gallons.......other than that there wasn't a difference.

It's listed in my owner's manual at home, I'll look at it tonight.

The california bike has smog restrictions. You might see a catalytic converter which adds weight and affects air flow. Easily solved with a slip on. There will be some extra tubing for a charcoal box only found on CA models. Some bikes have lesser teeth on the rear sprocket. i.e. CA model r6 has 2 less teeth in rear sprocket than 49 state. Cam profiling and ignition timing may be different as well. also higher redlines may differ as well. Ecu will differ for sure. If you try to remove the smog restrictions it will throww off your mapping but then again its nothing a power commander cant fix. If possible, try to stay away from a CA bike unless its an AWESOME deal. hope this helps.
