Default Chain & Security

after looking for a good chain, i was almost set on getting a New York Fahgettaboudit chain lock - http://www.kryptonitelock.com/...rp=20.

but after doing some more looking, i found these: http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/index.php.

apparently the latter ranked #1 (even ahead of the new york chain) in a Ride magazine test.

this is what's scaring me about the new york chain: http://www.almax-security-chai...e.php

what would you do?

Buy insurance.

The NY chains are good because they are more of a visual theft deterrent. But a thief who really wants your bike will take it.

so i'm thinking of bike security also. i'm thinking about the chain, the throttle lock, and the rotor lock. sure it'll take an extra 3 min to unlock it all, but the more the better right?

but realistically the chain is the only real defense. All they have to do is cut through that, then him and a couple buddies lift your bike up and dump it in a van or truck. Eliminates the rotor lock since they ain't pushing it.
