Default CBR Overheating?

I just got the bike Saturday. I got a good deal on it. 2003 CBR 600RR.

Anyway.. The kid said if it sat too long it would overheat, but riding, it was fine. Well.. He was right about sitting. If I let it sit for 5-10 minutes it wants to get as hot as possible. It starts spewing antifreeze from what I GUESS is an overflow? I have so little time right now, and the bike is four hours away. I'm looking for ideas on what it COULD be.. Or where to start looking.

My first objective, is to get all the fairings off, and just do a visual inspection. Anyone else have these problems? I'm just trying to get a jumpstart here. This is my first bike.

I thought about replacing the thermostat anyway, just in case.

The fan does kick on though, I made sure of that.

Where can I get a thermostat for this bike?

Thanks for the quick reply.
