Default Bikes in rain...

Why is it a big deal when you see something like this in a motorcycle ad....

...Never ridden in rain...

Do motorcycles melt when you ride them in the rain?? Shed some light on this for me

on a bike you don't have much tire contact with the road so it is very easy to hydro plain, and you also have a lot less weight pressing down on the tires contact points. It is easy enough with a car with there power to weight ratio now take 1hp per 4 pounds and try it.....or like my bike 1Hp per 1.783pounds...

IMO, it's very dangerous to ride in the rain and second, the bike gets dirty.

But why do people put this in their ad when trying to sell?

Rain frightens less experienced riders, and makes the bike dirty in spots you never knew dirt could get to. Lots of people also think that getting wet is actually going to wreck the bike. I could see it being used as a selling point from the dirt standpoint, but it wouldn't make any difference to me.

i live in florida and it has been raining for the past 2 weeks straight and i occasionally see people riding in the rain, i don't think it does any harm to the bike, its just a more dangerous situation

Riding in the rain isnt a big deal, I didnt have a car for 3 years while living in VA and rode in the rain whenever it rained. You just have to do everything slower and leave more room for error.
