Default Engine Swap??

i was wondering what kind of honda engines could fit this model, is there any other engines to swap into a fit for more performance?

K20 swap will swap in with some work, need custom mounts/wiring/ECU/axles etc...

Hope you've got about $6500-8,000 to spend.

Look elsewhere. People buy these for good fuel economy and practicality, not to street race them.

I was about to say I've seen a B series in an 80s Wagovan Civic.

Exactly, that's a car that's 20 years old, and pretty much worthless to begin with (in terms of monetary value, I love old honda wagons).

Why someone would buy a new Fit for $15k just to tear it apart and do a swap and try to make it into a fast car is beyond me. Why not take an EG, which can be had for a fraction on the cost to begin with, is lighter, has an inherently superior suspension setup and lower center of mass, and is much easier/cheaper to swap?

I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your money, but why someone would take a perfectly good DD with an economical engine, decent sound isolation, and smooth ride, and turn it into a swapped rattletrap.

Because its something new and interesting to do! I'd so go for it man, just understand that a Fit is NOT a performance minded vehicle because the weight is so far in front of the front axle is kind of an awkward vehicle. A K20 would add weight to the front of it which would require a good coil over setup so that you can even out the front and rear ride heights. But a K20 Fit would be awesome!!! My mom has an 07 base and even though I hate it, I think it rides like a truck compared to my 92 civic, I would drive the **** out of it if it had a K20.

P.S. If you do it, show it off with a sticker:
i-VTEC
DOHC

I agree deadlock, it would be pretty badass having a fit with a k20, and why to do it? first- they are pretty lightweighted, 2nd- they said the samething with civics, and they roll pretty badass too, i had a 92civic coupe burning some wheels, now i have a 90' prelude running pretty good, but im thinking to do a swap on fit, and civicwagonRUS, make some reseach on japan there is a mugen fit that runs pretty good a looks awsome with a k20 swap. Ill post some videos later.

But to be honest I dont have to budget, to swap for a k20, does anybody knows if the h22a fits?

It would be nice to have a fit like this, from js racing with a k20a (0-34sec)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfWzLpCI-BU

do some research, you'll see

look for this thread (New Fit2008 J's Racing in Japan.) thats pretty badass!!!

To make anything other than a K series fit in there would be completely one off as nobody has done it yet and I'm sure there are reasons behind it (not enough clearance, no mounts, why bother?) things like that. I'd say either buy a turbo kit or supercharger for the L-15 with associated mods i.e exhaust, intake mani, dp etc and tune it and have a low 14 second maybe high 13 second daily that still gets about 35-40 if driven conservatively and roll it. You'd be looking at about $5,000-$6,000 and have your stock motor still to pass emissions and everything would be legit. You swap in something like an old *** H22 and you'll have a track car unless you dont have any emissions to worry about.

the video is the spoon fit. the owner of spoon pretty much describes how the FIT from the factory is made very well and is balanced very well.

Deadlock281 even if you put a K series in a eg or any other car the weight will be in the front which you will have to run a high spring rate.

so i dont get what your trying to say.

fit is not a performance minded vehicle to those who only want to save gas and drive 40mph on the freeway

Save up for a turbo, you cant just jump into things...

no one said it did in the first place.

i posted the pic to show that people have done other swaps besides the "K"

and i said what the video was about.

"the video is the spoon fit. the owner of spoon pretty much describes how the FIT from the factory is made very well and is balanced very well."
