Oil pressure light issues
So i had just completely rebuilt this d16a6 i had extra (supposedly been sitting since 2008) all new bearings, rings, seals, everything is standard size because the original bearings didnt show any significant scoring or damage and the crankshaft was in incredibly good shape. Anyways I am having issues with the oil light coming on after the car is completely warmed up (around 5-10 minutes of driving). It will flicker a bit then stay solid. I had checked the oil pump rotor clearence and i managed 0.08mm of gap, which is within spec. Note I have put about 50 miles on the rebuild; drained and refilled oil and replaced filter after a few heat cycles and 10 miles. The engine is not knocking, is running great, and not burning/leaking anything. I hooked up a harbor freight mechanical gauge (i know) and read 80psi cold, slowly decreasing all the way to 25psi at hot idle. I let the engine run for about 15 minutes and it didnt go any lower than 25psi, and increases with rpm. So i replaced the dinosaur oil pressure switch with a new one from advanced auto and am still getting the light after it gets hot. Does this sound like a wiring issue or maybe the oil pump is just weak?? Any ideas appreciated.
