controllable diff in a CRV
So what I'm wondering is if someone has put a differential from something like a Subaru or another type of differential that can be controlled and locked automatically. In a 1999 or first generation CRV it's something that I really want to do and I'm really passionate about for some reason and I was wondering if anybody could help. Thank you to anyone who helps me accomplish this dream. I know it's a little bit far-fetched.
I also apologize if my car language is not 100% perfect I'm just really starting to get into CRVs I would love the help on a little bit of correction thank you so much. I do already have an all wheel drive CRV so will not have to convert it I just want to know if I can put a controllable differential thank you.

Couple of all out drag race guys are using compressed gas like nitrogen or carbon dioxide to control the clutch pack in the rear end. Not cheap, not easy.
Might look into an 05+ CR-V rear end swap. This is when they added the ramp clutch and the response from the rear end became nearly instant. Heck anything newer is probably going to have better response than the 24 year old parts you are working with. There are clutch pack upgrades and pressure tweaks as well.
Do some more research on how the Honda AWD works and what the weak links are. You will discover it is really well optimized for what it is and adding manual control won't gain you much and will very likely lead to broken parts.
