08 CRV Engine Swap Problems
Hello everyone, I am new to the site, but I am in need of help badly! I purchased a 08 CRV a couple months back from a car lot and I started doing Maintenace to it just to make sure everything was good with it since not knowing the history of it. I have had problems since day one with it being slow and sluggish and horrible on gas, but I figured it just how the crv was I know they weren't built for speed. It won't till about a month ago I was replacing the transmission filter when I finally noticed that it was a K20z3 engine in it instead of the stock k24z1 had been swapped in it due to the stamp mark on the motor. Still has the stock crv 2wd transmission mated to engine, still running the stock crv ecm, there are no check engine lights on and no stored or pending codes from ecm, starts and idle fines. It has nooooo low end power at take off till about 4-5k rpm, its horrible on gas, boggs down at 2k rpm when speeding up trying to pull out in traffic, I have changed all filters, new coil packs and spark plugs, new throttle body with new tps sensor(for the k20z3 engine), new map sensor, new oxygen sensors, new maf sensor. Trying to figure out what I can do to solve this problem cause daily driving it is horrible when it comes to performance and gas milage.
Yeah no codes for anything, I have done a live data scan and everything looks good so far from what I have seen reading the forms. But my question is, with being an automatic what ecm should it be running for this engine, I have a 07 civic si ecm but all of those were manual transmissions so I know I couldn’t run it, I have plugged it in before and car will start but immediately cuts off every time and I am assuming that may be because of the immobilizer system. Not sure what else to do
