Re: (smokee)
Replace your VSS sensor and it will be good to go https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (Mr.RHTuner)
no codes? I didn't have the vss all the way in and i was throwing a code after driving for a while.
|
swap out the cluster with a friends and see if you still get that. this happened to me with a bad cluster.
|
The VSS should go out before the cluster would unless you placed some Algerian Engineering on it.

VSS https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Had the same problem

Re: (CrotchRocket)
check the connector that connects to the speed sensor. This usually gets corroded and causes the speedometer to act erratically.

Re: (powerfulperformance)
mine some time sticks at 0 and when i hit it like tap when driving it plops up to like 20
some times i can tell its not acurate giving it gas and not moving for a few seconds so my symptoms are a retarted or slow speedo how can i fix this? |
Re: (my si is bluer than yours)
man you guys really need to learn basic troubleshooting!
never replace a part outright. its very common for the VSS to have corrosion and contact problems, the symptoms you describe are very accurate with this unplug the VSS, clean the connectors with electrical parts cleaner, let it dry, try again. |
DID U GIVE IT SOME REDBULL

Re: (lazybrown187)
i had that verry same prob i fixed mines i have a b16 trans in a eg i took it out pop out the lil pin clean up the shaft put some gear oul on it and put it back in make sure therres no dirt in the sensor it self where it connect to the harness then try it it worked out pretty good for me https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

like everyone else has said, check your VSS first, if not, take out your cluster and and push the speedo needle up, should have some resistance and go back down. if you push it up and it goes all the way around, then you my friend need a new cluster

bump i have the same prob..
