What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1
I have a 93 Si Hatch in progress. In the spring, my brother and I are putting a sohc in. What exhaust should I have. I think the Apexi N1 sounds and looks hot, but would just the sound of the motor be better?? OEM muffler. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
the N1 is suppose to be pretty loud... i would personally go with the WS by apex'i

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (jethawk)
see thats the thing, i dont want to loud because i want to hear vtec and cold air..thats why i thought OEM is ok, but it will reduce the hp a bit..

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
how about es oval??
|
Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
the ws isnt loud at all its suppose to be just as quiet as stock... maybe a little bit louder... but performs much better then oem... and its also cheaper then the N1... and dosent have as big of a ricer looking tip

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (jethawk)

second that, sounds really nice, looks even better, not to big of a bitch to put on. Be prepared to drill out the Cat studs and replace them with bolts though. I would say the WS is just about stock at idle, with a nice tone up to higher rpm. definently nice torque increase at low end. |
Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (hayabusa160)
if you check the sponser forum you can get a apexi WS system from a guy in there... (very good guy quick with emails) with free shipping to the lower 48 states.... anyways heres a link to the pic of the muffler http://www.apexi-usa.com/graph...1.jpg

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (jethawk)
i had the apexi ws on my stock motor sounded great. no rasp at all even when i went catless with my built motor it had no rasp. very clean sound. it is great when ur driving on the highway too you cant really hear it. i got a dynomax now /es oval and it drones real bad i miss my apexi ws https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
YOUR OPINIONS WANTED ON EXHAUSTS FOR 93 SI HATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
you might be able to find just the muffler... you can pick up a apexi dunk uni muffler its kinda the best of both worlds ish...you get a nice quiet deep tone below 4000 ish rpm.. but then it starts to get louder as the rpm goes up..... but i would just opt for the complete WS catback

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (jethawk)
catback you think? might as well do it if your goin to do it at all.. so haha Thanks Man.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: What type of exhaust!!! OEM or N1 (SIelement)
lol sorry but I don't think a SOHC is that special to hear. Get whatever you like, I think the N1 is TOOOOOO loud, you could lose hearing if you have sensitive ears. My exhaust is pretty loud but not too bad. 5zigen https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
