It is the lowest one on the tranny. Left side in the back from the front of the car

not sure about an auto, but for manuals you can skip out on the fill plug. unplug the VSS (vechicle speed sensor) and fill it from the top.

goodbyegti 10-11-2003 03:51 AM

...but i guess you'll want to remove the fill plug anyway to see when it overflows unless measure the amount of fluid you put in... if you get a simple funnel with a flexible hose it is dead easy to use the fill plug, just gets a little messy if you're not careful.

Looks like he said auto to me...in which case I have no idea.

Unless, it's like a lot of the other cars out there, the plug is on the bottom, facing the street.
Does it have a filter too? If so, replace that. That could be inside the pan.
So you'll probably need a new gasket after removing the pan, to get to the filter.

look in the bottem of the tranny. you should see a bolt that looks like it kinda has a flat end and it has i beleive a allen key head. be sure to only use honda atf to fill it up again unless you like a slipping trans.

EP, the Honda auto trannys have a NON serviceable filter. It can only be replaced upon a complete rebuild.

#1 reason you'll never see a Honda with a automatic in my driveway.

autos use the same style drain plug as manuals and you refill then through the dip stick hole and the tranny holds 2.9 quarts of honda atf-z1 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images.../h-emblem4.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

No need to measure. B series uses 2.3 quarts. Even 2 will work perfectly fine. D series will be fine on 2.

Fuck the fill level bolt.

goodbyegti 10-12-2003 02:45 PM

if you have a decent funnel with a flexible hose it is dead easy to use the filler hole, i read a little on here before i did it and everyone was like"yeah its well hard to use the filler hole etc.. use the vss hole" but when i came to do it i had no problems at all..
