So car was stolen few weeks back....when I got it back from inpound it was beat pretty bad(HG blown, MIL lights code 22, 23 and some others I'm forgetting)
Anyway not the point to the question....when I dismantled the engine my pistons(SRP .50 oversized, 10.5:1) were pitted and looked like the thin sides of the combustion chamber were blown out.

Can you fix pitting or are these piston hooped?

 

looks like your head was being lift up from the pistons.

 

Nasty eh!? So anybody know if they can be saved or should I just make an ash tray out of them?
