removing Timeing belt cover?
Is there a way to get the timing belt cover off without taking off the valve cover or anything. I tried but only tried the two bolts on the side and couldnt figure it out so i was wondering how it comes off or if its even possible to get it off without taking out the engine

Re: removing Timeing belt cover?
The upper part of the timing belt cover has a lip on it. Therefore you are going to have to take the valve cover off.

Re: removing Timeing belt cover?
ya just those two bolts. nothing should go wrong but there is always the chance of something falling in there.

it shouldnt cause anything some people have it off but i live in a place where it rains and theres alot of mud so i leave mines on just in case

ok that would make sense to keep it on

Re: removing Timeing belt cover?
you can get it off, but it is a big pain in the ass. It's an even bigger pain in the ass getting it back on. Just do it right, it's actually easier that way.

Re: removing Timeing belt cover?
^^ Yes, go get yourself a replacement valve cover gasket while your are at it. Pick up some Honda-bond, too.
It is 5 bolts (taking the VC off), that's it....assumming you have a D series, too. |
