Preserving headlights with clear coat?

I replace both my 99-00 headlights with aftermarket ones. I would like them to last for years to come. Can I protect them from weather and keep them crystal clear with clear coat?

You would likely have better results with a protective film such as Lamin-X.

I've wondered the same thing. Since I've sanded down my yellow nasty ass headlights, I was wondering if you could spray a coat of clear to keep them shiney and nice for a longer time.

BUmp for this guy. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Interesting, but clear coat seems easier to apply and is much cheaper. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

But it is also more difficult to remove, and won't provide nearly the level of protection that something like Lamin-X will.

Hmmm...looks like lamin-x is $50 while a new set of Civic headlights is only $100. Thanks for the input, but I'll probably clear coat my headlights. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif
