nsx brake swap with factory hub???? * fix'd *

well me and a buddy are into roadracing and we came across nsx calibers and rotors for an nsx at the auto parts store wich is where my friend works ..anyway has a nsx brake swap ever been done...with adapter plates for the calibers and having the rotors machined to fit i think i could be possible....let me know what you guys think..i was going to do this as a project and post it up but i wanted to see what you guys had to say about it before i wasted money trying to do it ...think it would be a good project?

ps: the car i was going to try it on was a ej1 ...and i want o keep the factory hub and bolt pattern 4x100

Yes it's done ratther frequently. I hear it's a kickass setup. You do need itr or ctr suspension though. It'll only work for 5 lug.

i was thinking about trying to keep the 4x100 set up and have the rotors machined and have holes drilled to match the factory USDM bolt pattern...or will the usdm suspension get in the way?

NSX caliper swap. This link looks like it's for a ''96-00 swap, but the OP's would know more about that. I have been wanting to try this as well.

thanks for the info nightrain...has it been done with a 92-95? and is it possible to keep the usdm suspension and bolt pattern?? or is a itr or ctr swap needed??

I don't know about the matching it up to 4x100. If it works, mad props.

bmoua 11-16-2006 10:23 AM

i've seen 5 lug lude rotors machine drilled to 4 lug...i'm not sure if its really safe though...i would like to know if it really is possible...

turdb0 11-16-2006 10:23 AM

i'll see what i can come up with...i'll post up some pics or what went wrong..i also have 16" rims so im going to try to fit the 12.1" rotors on it

Best info available. Will work with your car since your EJ1 has the same knuckle as the Integra.

I've seen it done before. The link posted above has the info. You use redrilled prelude vtec rotors.

I have a set of nsx rotors that have been drilled to 4x100 we were going to put
them on my buddys ek hatch then decided to just do si brakes cause he didnt want to go to a bigger wheel.
they line up perfect just need the adapter plates to mount the caliper we also didnt
have those

turdb0 11-16-2006 11:48 AM

iv seen that done before also but arent nsx brakes bigger?

Re: (ozrednsx)

you can use the nsx calipers but the rotors are too big. also if you use 94-95 legend gs rotors redrilled to 4x100 you dont have to modify the caliper bracket.
