HELP ASAP!
im building my engine back up, and when torquing my main seal back down (9ftlbs) 2 bolts snapped..
IM SUPER PISSED. do you think its okay if i have to bolts broken holding the main seal on? its got liquid gasket all the way down and its fairly tight on there. or do you think i should dis-assemble everything and get the machine shop to take the snapped bolts out.. damn,,, do it right and disassemble and have the machine shop take it out. because when ever you want to push the engine your always going to wonder if its going to leak from the main seal. which means pulling the trans , clutch, etc off to see if thats the problem.
thats what i would do.. |
Re: HELP ASAP! (JDMPROject)
were you using an inch or ftlb meter? most ftlb torque wrenches arent accurate that low.
and i would take it to the machine shop, no point fucking it up more. |

yeah thats what i figured. it didn't seem accurate.. just kept turning.. POS..
so i should just take it and get them drilled and re-threaded? |

Re: HELP ASAP! (JDMPROject)
i did the same thing. lol. if you have the time, get it removed and replace with a new bolt, but i think you will be ok.
